The Prince Charles cinema in London's Leicester Square has secured a new 25-year lease with no break clause, ending a closure threat that began in January 2025.

The repertory cinema announced the agreement with its current landlords via social media, stating "after 21 months of uncertainty, we're delighted to have secured the future of the cinema" and that they had "signed a new 25-year lease with no break clause, ensuring our projectors will keep rolling for years to come".

The cinema had faced an uncertain future for over a year and a half before reaching this agreement. The 25-year lease with no break clause means the cinema cannot be forced out during this period.
