Digger, an eco-satire starring Tom Cruise and directed by Alejandro G Iñárritu, is projected to lose around $245 million, according to Variety. The film would rank among the biggest box office disasters in movie history, comparable to Cutthroat Island and The Marvels.
The film's second weekend North American revenue fell 60 percent to $3.2 million from its opening weekend of $8 million. Current domestic gross stands at $14.4 million, with a global total of $35.3 million. Variety projects a final worldwide box office total of approximately $50 million.
The $245 million loss figure represents a worse outcome than previously estimated losses of $150 million reported earlier.
