The Football Association spent £564,400 on Wembley hospitality and free tickets for FA Council members in the 2025-26 season, a 25 percent increase from £452,300 the previous year, according to the FA's latest accounts obtained by The Guardian.
The accounts also show the cost of hosting FA Council meetings nearly doubled over the same period.
The spending increase comes as fan groups across English football have staged protests and walkouts over ticket prices in recent years. Liverpool scrapped plans to raise ticket prices across three successive seasons following supporter unrest at the end of last season, The Guardian reports.
The contrast between FA spending on executive hospitality and the affordability challenges facing regular supporters underscores a widening gap between governing body priorities and fan concerns. The cost-of-living crisis has made match attendance increasingly unaffordable for many households.
