Asos shares fell nearly 10% after the online fashion retailer confirmed unauthorised access to its app systems by an unidentified third party.
Asos notified customers of the breach and said it is investigating the incident. The company stated that basic personal information including name and contact details may have been accessed. Asos said it does not believe payment card records or passwords were compromised in the breach.
Shoppers received notifications from the retailer claiming hackers had "fully compromised" its data. Asos is working to determine the full scope of the unauthorised access.
