Costa's main coffee shop arm returned to operating profit in 2025, posting £20m compared with losses of £13.5m the previous year. The chain attributed the turnaround to menu changes and outlet renovations.
Costa expanded its offerings to include iced drinks, matcha and fresher pastries. The chain operates 2,700 outlets across the UK and Ireland, part of a global estate of 4,000 locations. It employs roughly 20,000 people.
The company opened a net 50 new outlets in the UK last year, marking its first net increase in several years. This suggests a reversal of previous contraction in its store footprint.
The results cover the year ending 31 December 2025.
